My sister and I went out to support the gay Orlando community at this year’s parade on Lake Eola. Of course, I came out too late to see the actual parade, but I did get to see the colorful and happy people at the park. It was a day of acceptance, tolerance, and enlightenment on issues like gay rights (which is a HOT topic for this year’s election) as well as violence against gay people across America. As usual, there were some people who weren’t happy about the event, but I had a great time.

Looks VERY colorful.
I must say…. I wouldn’t have! I have nothing against gay people or in ANY WAY support violence or discrimination against gay people. For the longest time I have always had the “Doesn’t affect me in any way, I don’t care” attitude, no need to discriminate and stuff like that.
Then I started to realize how things we see as children affect our lives, while I have nothing at all against GLBT, I don’t want anyone telling my child “it is cool to be gay/It’s the new trend” – that WONT fly… for that reason you wouldn’t catch me at a gay parade or voting for gay marriage, just a personal preference : )
All the same…. did look very colorful and exciting though… dude looked like he was having too much fun lol

@Mas I think I understand what you’re saying.
I know I’m not open enough to take an impressionable child to a Gay Pride Parade. But I’ve had enough experiences in life not to be too afraid of people who have different lifestyles than I do.
Plus, it was right across the street from me…and I’m NOSY! LOL
