Event Photography : Citrus Parade

Tags:

Since the Citrus Parade was right outside of my office this year, I decided to take the opportunity to practice on event photography.  I had difficulty with lighting (the buildings cast HUGE shadows on my subjects) and the fact that everything was moving!  I missed a lot of great shots simply because they moved  too fast for me to focus.

At first, I tried to take shots of entire lines of people marching on the street, but eventually decided to focus on individual objects, subjects and faces in order to achieve a more moving photo.

This pony was shot in a high aperture so that the focus could be mainly on him. Plus, he’s got a FRESH haircut.

I loved this little girl with the glasses!  Such a cutie pie!

You know I played the clarinet in the marching band right?  Don’t sleep on it!
