Since the Citrus Parade was right outside of my office this year, I decided to take the opportunity to practice on event photography. I had difficulty with lighting (the buildings cast HUGE shadows on my subjects) and the fact that everything was moving! I missed a lot of great shots simply because they moved too fast for me to focus.

At first, I tried to take shots of entire lines of people marching on the street, but eventually decided to focus on individual objects, subjects and faces in order to achieve a more moving photo.

Over this past weekend, me and my fellow members from Marium599 were chosen to run the photo booth at our annual District #27 Christmas Ball.
I was a big bag of nerves since I heard the news, but I think we did a great job (and even turned a profit from our sales)

This was definitely a learning experience. It was fast-paced, we had to deal with the wind (knocking down my umbrellas), the cold, and printing issues. But in the end, we came up with photos that I think people will enjoy.

Halloween is a silly azz holiday. I haven’t dressed up in years but put the effort in to be the best darn pirate I could be this time around. I know that this is supposed to be a kid’s holiday, but 30+thousand grown adults showed up for the Halloween Street party on Church Street this year.

This was the funniest costume I saw!! Do you see the bills on his utility belt?!?!?!?
My sister and I went out to support the gay Orlando community at this year’s parade on Lake Eola. Of course, I came out too late to see the actual parade, but I did get to see the colorful and happy people at the park. It was a day of acceptance, tolerance, and enlightenment on issues like gay rights (which is a HOT topic for this year’s election) as well as violence against gay people across America. As usual, there were some people who weren’t happy about the event, but I had a great time.

I attended The Spa’s Happy Hour in Downtown Orlando. It’s tucked away on a colorful strip of shops on Orange ave near Princeton. For only $35.00, we had a choice between a long list of treatments including cupping and reflexology, Mac makeup application, henna tattoos, and even the new…fish pedicure.

Sunday Evening, we celebrated Christina’s 24th birthday!!! We started off at Kobe’s for that birffday dinner.

Aren’t they a cute couple? (Christina and Dan)

I spent this past weekend in Miami celebrating Jeane’s birthday. The ride there was boring as hell, but well worth it.
Above are all of the usual suspects (and Natalie’s new pooch Roxy) jazzed up before heading to Opium for the night.
